About The Movie

Imagine American Splendor creating a bastard child with My Architect that was then raised by Forrest Gump and you have Dibujantes [Draftsmen], the documentary film I am producing about my dad.

My name is Seth Estrada, and I am telling the story of a man who has inspired thousands through his gift of visual storytelling, and open-door/open-heart policy of sharing his vast and incredible life-experience.

We've interviewed President of DC Comics, Paul Levitz; comics writer extraordinaire, Roy Thomas; award-winning creator of Groo the Wanderer, Sergio Aragonés;  award-winning comics writer/historian Mark Evanier; comics legend Joe Kubert, and more!

Now we are asking for your help in the following ways:

1. PLEDGE!
We've been approved by kickstarter.com to begin a fundraising campaign for our current production goal: film the suburb of Havana where Ric grew up, before Fidel's brother, Raul Castro, permits major change to take place in Cuba. A $1 pledge will help, $1,000 will help even more. Every successful donation will be met with some level of reward from us once the campaign is complete:
  • Credit at end of film
  • Producer's Credit on iMDb
  • Digital copy of the Limited edition Havana: Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow micro-documentary
  • Digital copy of the finished film in standard definition
  • Limited edition Ric Estrada Movie t-shirts, featuring previously unreleased original artwork by Ric Estrada [first 20 contributors only]
  • Digital copy of the finished film in High Definition.
  • A signed physical copy of the film on High Definition Blu-ray, including special 3-D footage shot throughout Cuba!
  • A small vial of Cuban sand, from one of the four beaches of Havana, the most beautiful beaches of the Caribbean :
    • 1. Playa El Megano
    • 2. Playa Santa Maria Del Mar
    • 3. Playa Boca Ciega
    • 4. Playa Guanabo
  • And a few more, VERY special items to be listed on kickstarter.com once the race is on :)

2. SPREAD THE WORD!

  1. Post a direct link to our KickStarter page from Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, & your Blog.
  2. Send a mass email to all of your close friends and family with a link to this project (only send it to people who you know will appreciate it, otherwise it's SPAM)
